Project Partners

Hunter Health

Hunter Health is the major provider of health services to the Hunter Region, covering a geographical area of 25,000 square kilometres. With an operating budget of $565million (2002-2003), Hunter Heath employs nearly 10,000 staff and provides health and patient services to a community of over 500,000 people, covering 11 local government areas.

Hunter Health is responsible for the management and operation of health facilities that are typically only found in capital cities, and includes:

  • 20 hospitals and polyclinics
  • 18 community health centres
  • 37 child and family health centres
  • 20 dental clinics
  • NSW's only regional children's hospital
  • a child and adolescent mental health unit
  • neonatal intensive care unit
  • the busiest emergency department and trauma centre in NSW.

The organisation provides more than 1.8million occasions for service each year, with only 6% (approximately 100,000) of these requiring admissions to hospital.

Services include public health, health promotion, community health, acute hospital, aged, mental health, pathology, imaging, rehabilitation and paliative care.

Hunter Health works with other agencies to improve the health of Hunter people.

Landcom

Landcom, a NSW government owned corporation, believes future generations should inherit urban communities that are safe and sustainable.

Landcom plans new developments and creates new residential and business communities on vacant land and established sites to deliver social and economic benefits to the people of NSW, while maintaining a strong commitment to environmental, sustainability and community development.

The organisation has extensive experience in delivering quality urban developments in Sydney, Wollongong, Central Coast and the Hunter that are innovative, environmentally sound, socially responsible and financially viable.

Landcom has been engaged by Hunter Health as the project development manager, which involves the preparation of a Concept Plan for the future use of the RNH site.
